Join an amazing community of local runners! Trained coaches will help you stay motivated, complete a distance you never imagined you could, and help you earn a new personal record. This program is designed for people that are wanting to complete their first 5K distance at a walk or jog pace, or improve on their past 5K distance time. We will train 10 weeks for The Big Run 5K on June 7, 2022 and along the way we provide you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. Our 5K FINISH program is a learn to walk, run/walk or run program designed for the true beginner. During this 12-week program, participants are surrounded by a team of dedicated, motivated people all working toward the goal of becoming healthy and strong. By the time they cross the finish line of their goal 5K race, team members will have learned the importance of proper form, stretching, hydration, and nutrition – all the tools needed to maintain their new fitness routine. Our 5K FAST program is a 12-week program for experienced runners who have made the transition from completing to competing and who have been following a structured training program for at least one year. Training initiatives include stride efficiency, 5Kspecific "fast twitch" endurance, aerobic endurance, versatile race pace efficiency, and post-run recovery and injury prevention.

Fleet Feet Longmeadow is excited to put on our 8-week training program for The Big Run on June 7th presented by Brooks! This 8-week training program is for all levels, all faces, all paces. Walkers and runners are welcome! In-person training sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 pm as well as Sundays at 8:00 am. Most sessions will meet at our store in Longmeadow. Some sessions will also take place on the Longmeadow High School track, in Forest Park, or at Fannie Stebbins Wildlife Refuge. Our coaches will always communicate in advance when and where sessions will meet and will communicate if we need to cancel or adjust our sessions due to inclement weather. The registration fee is $75 and includes a training plan for each day of the week, high-quality coaching, mobility and stretching resources, a program t-shirt, swag, and more!

The plan offers a balance of run/walk workouts, cross training and rest days to gradually increase your fitness. Plus, your coach and fellow training group members will provide the guidance and motivation you need to stay on track and have fun along the way. The Big Run 5K Training Program presented by Brooks culminates with the Big Run 5K in celebration of Global Running Day in June. More than a race, The Big Run is a celebration of running and the community it pulls together. Come run with us! We know you can do it.
